This year, the Russian retail market for blood pressure monitors has seen a shift from stagnation to a decline in physical sales, against the backdrop of continued weak growth in monetary terms. The main driver of the decline in physical consumption was the e-commerce segment, which may be due to some market saturation as well as inflationary processes — a notable price increase of 12.5% was recorded in the online segment, which may have cooled consumer demand on online platforms.
In January–July 2026, the total volume of the Russian retail market for blood pressure monitors (including the e-commerce and FMCG segments) exceeded RUB 8.2 billion (at retail prices, including VAT), showing modest value growth of 3.9% compared to the same period last year. However, the positive ruble dynamics are driven primarily by the price factor, as in physical terms the market shows signs of a pronounced decline. In the first seven months of this year, approximately 3.8 million blood pressure monitoring devices were sold at retail, reflecting a 4% decline in physical consumption. The current contraction in real demand deepens the trend that emerged in 2025, when physical sales volumes were virtually stagnant, showing growth of only 0.9% compared to the previous year.
The change in market trend was marked by a decline in physical demand in the e-commerce segment, which had previously shown stable growth against the backdrop of a decline in traditional retail. According to the "Retail Audit of Medical Device Sales in Russia (total sell out)" from the analytical company RNC Pharma, in the first seven months of 2026, online sales of blood pressure monitors decreased by 7.8% in units, while their monetary volume increased by 10.3% due to price increases. Traditional retail stagnated during the same period: -0.4% in physical terms and +0.8% in value terms. As a result, e-commerce now accounts for 46.5% of the physical volume of the blood pressure monitor market and about 35% of its total value.
During the reporting period, the retail assortment was represented by more than 60 brands from 48 manufacturers. Despite the leading positions of unbranded products in the e-commerce segment, on the scale of the entire market, the "no-name" category occupies only fourth place. In January–July 2026, the physical share of such devices decreased to 24% compared to 29% a year earlier, and in value terms they accounted for 9.7% of the market. The decline in sales of unbranded blood pressure monitors was recorded in both physical (-20.9%) and value terms (-6.9%).
Overall, the market is led by Japanese brands Omron and A&D, holding 30.4% and 29% of ruble sales, respectively. Both brands showed confident sales growth of +9% and +7% in rubles, respectively. Third place is held by the Swiss brand B.Well (12.9% in rubles). Together, the top three control more than 55% of physical consumption. Fourth place in the branded product ranking is retained by the Singaporean brand Little Doctor (5.5% in rubles), with the brand showing the highest growth in monetary sales within the top ten over the seven months of this year (+22%).
Negative dynamics in physical sales in the top ten were shown by three brands, with the most notable decline recorded for SberZdorovie (Sber's own trademark). Over the year, the physical sales volume of SberZdorovie blood pressure monitors decreased by 38%, while monetary revenue increased by 12%. Notably, they increased significantly in price, with the cost of one device now exceeding RUB 3.5 thousand. In turn, a decline in ruble revenue in the TOP-10 affected only two manufacturers: the Swiss brand B.Well (-11% in rubles) and the Japanese brand Nissei from Nihon Seimitsu Soki (-21%).
