In the sales structure of topical hemorrhoid treatment drugs, key positions are held by major brands, but far from all of them showed pronounced consumption dynamics this year.
In the first seven months of 2026, the Russian retail market for topical hemorrhoid treatment drugs (group C05A) saw stagnation in physical demand (-0.6%), while total spending in the category grew by 8.9% over the year. From January to July 2026, Russians purchased 15.2 million packages of such products, spending RUB 8.5 billion (at retail prices, including VAT). Previously, the market had shown steady upward dynamics in monetary terms, with value sales volume increasing at double-digit rates over the past three years. However, physical dynamics remained more restrained, ranging from +2% to +4%. In 2025, total spending on topical hemorrhoid treatments exceeded RUB 13.7 billion, equivalent to the consumption of more than 26.2 million packages, with long-term growth recorded at +15.9% in rubles and +4.1% in packages.
According to the "Retail Audit of Drug Sales in Russia (total sell out)" from the analytical company RNC Pharma, from January to July 2026, 50 brands from 24 corporations were represented in the category. More than 60% of all spending in the group is generated by the products of two leading corporations: Nizhpharm Group (31.6%) and Bayer HealthCare (28.5%). The former's portfolio includes 10 brands of topical antihemorrhoidal products, three of which are among the top ten, while the latter represents only two brands in the group.
As in the same period last year, the largest Russian spending during the reporting period was directed toward Relief from Bayer HealthCare. The brand currently accounts for 26.2% of the group's total value sales. Second place in the ranking is occupied by Hepatrombin (Nizhpharm) with a 13.7% share. Third place rose to the brand Procto-Glyvenol from the Irish company Recordati, accounting for 11.8% of all spending in the group. At the same time, the brand Natalsid from Nizhpharm dropped to fourth place over the year, with a minimal margin and a similar sales share. The top five is rounded out by Posterisan from the German pharmaceutical factory Dr. Kade, with a 10.2% ruble share.
A characteristic feature of this group is the relatively small presence of unbranded products, which account for only about 6% of total monetary spending and no more than 20% of physical demand. These are mainly traditional products in suppository form, such as Sea Buckthorn Oil, Anuzol, and Novocaine. Sea buckthorn oil suppositories, currently manufactured by six producers, occupy sixth place in the ranking. During the reporting period, demand for this product decreased by 1.6% in packages; however, due to an increase in the average price, its monetary sales volume grew noticeably (+13%).
In terms of sales dynamics among top products, the combined drug Olestezin (Altaivitaminy) stood out — over the year, consumer spending on it increased by 67%, while physical retail sales grew by 29%. A significant growth rate was also demonstrated by Relifipin (+29% in rubles), which occupies ninth place in the ranking. Recall that Bayer HealthCare acquired the rights to this drug in 2021 from the Russian company NovaMedica; it is an original combination of nifedipine and lidocaine.
