In the first four months of 2026, over 4.6 million minimum dosage units (MDU) of systemic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (group M01A) were sold in Russian veterinary pharmacies and pet stores. This is 21.1% higher than in the same period of 2025. In monetary terms, the market grew by 22.7%, reaching RUB 574.4 million (at retail prices, including VAT). The sharp acceleration in physical consumption in this segment began in 2025, when annual sales volume increased by 16.5% in both physical units and monetary terms compared to 2024, reaching 12.7 million MDU worth RUB 1.54 billion. Consumer spending in this category has been growing at double-digit rates for several consecutive years, even though in 2024 physical demand was virtually stagnant (+0.1% compared to 2023). As a result of the prolonged upturn, the monetary volume of the veterinary NSAID market in 2025 grew by 78% compared to 2022 figures.

Online sales have become a key driver of the veterinary NSAID market's development. In January–April 2026, the online channel already accounted for more than a quarter of all sales: 25.6% in MDU and 27.2% of total consumer spending. The main feature of the e-commerce segment was the explosive growth in physical demand, outpacing monetary indicators. Over the year, online sales in minimum units grew by 61.5%, while ruble revenue increased by only 36%. By comparison, traditional retail stores and veterinary pharmacies showed much more restrained dynamics. The offline market during the same period grew by just 11.5% in physical terms and 18.4% in monetary terms.

In January–April 2026, a total of 69 trademarks from 44 manufacturers were represented in the veterinary NSAID market. The leader in the segment in monetary terms remained the domestic brand Vemelkam (INN meloxicam) from Nita-Pharm, with a 22.5% share and annual revenue growth of 25.3%. In second place rose the Russian drug Nebolin-Vet (INN meloxicam) from Vetuchastok, which captured 11.2% of the market thanks to a rapid 72.9% sales increase. Due to the high activity of domestic manufacturers, the former market leader — the Onsior brand (Elanco) — dropped to fifth place in the ranking, with Russian spending on it halving over the year and physical demand falling by 56.5%.

From the beginning of 2025 to April 2026, active import substitution in the veterinary NSAID retail sector led to the emergence of more than 10 new trademarks, with the TOP-5 new products entirely occupied by Russian products. The leader among new drugs was Onokseb from Nita-Pharm, with sales of RUB 10.8 million in the first four months of 2026, securing 11th place in the overall ranking by value sales.
