In recent years, the anticoagulant segment (direct factor Xa inhibitors) has seen noticeable growth in physical sales volume. This dynamic is largely driven by rivaroxaban generics. Over the past two years, the physical share of drugs priced below RUB 1,000 in the category has grown to 39.6%.

Since 2024, the annual growth in physical sales volumes of direct factor Xa inhibitors (group B01F) has consistently exceeded the +17% mark. At the same time, the dynamics of consumer spending here have practically stalled, showing a change of +1% in 2025. The trend of divergence between physical and value indicators is confirmed by the results of the first eight months of 2026, when, against a 15.9% increase in package sales volumes, the market's monetary volume adjusted upward by only 2.8%. In absolute terms, during the specified period of the reporting year, retail sales amounted to 12.2 million packages, equivalent to a volume of RUB 23.2 billion (at retail prices, including VAT).

In the structure of retail anticoagulant sales for January–August 2026, despite active import substitution, the original brands Eliquis and Xarelto remain key to the segment, together accounting for about 84% of all ruble sales in the group under study. At the same time, the reporting period saw divergent dynamics for the two market leaders: the value volume of Eliquis showed moderate growth of 4%, while ruble sales of Xarelto decreased by 19%.

It is worth noting that this group of drugs belongs to the high price category. According to the "Retail Audit of Drug Sales in Russia (total sell out)" from the analytical company RNC Pharma, based on the results of January–August 2026, the total monetary volume of drugs priced above RUB 1,000 exceeded RUB 19.4 billion, accounting for almost 84% of all value sales in the group. Products in the mid-price range (RUB 1,000 to RUB 3,500) form about 68% of value sales and more than 55% of physical demand in the segment. Interestingly, the segment of drugs priced above RUB 3,500 has reduced its presence to 15.6% in rubles. As a result, based on the results of the eight months of the reporting year, it was surpassed by the budget category of drugs priced up to RUB 1,000, which now accounts for 16.4% of total monetary sales in the group.

It is also worth noting that for the second consecutive year, a decline in sales of drugs priced above RUB 3,500 has been recorded. Based on the results of January–August 2026, the decline in this category amounted to almost 8% in ruble terms and 6% in physical terms. The main price range (RUB 1,000 to RUB 3,500) demonstrated divergent dynamics — with a 10% increase in physical sales volume in packages, monetary indicators stagnated, increasing by only 1% compared to the same period last year. The highest dynamics over the past two years have been demonstrated by the budget segment (less than RUB 1,000); in the first eight months of 2026, sales of these drugs grew by 28% in rubles and 30% in packages.

It is also worth noting that the most expensive category (above RUB 3,500) is predominantly formed by packages of the original drug Xarelto with the maximum dosage or package size. The opposite, most affordable segment (less than RUB 1,000) was effectively created by the mass launch of rivaroxaban generics on the market. In the mid-price category (RUB 1,000 to RUB 3,500), which is key to the market, the dominant position is held by Eliquis, accumulating more than 60% of all ruble sales in this range, while the positions of its main competitor, the drug Xarelto, have significantly weakened in this segment.
