The Russian retail market for therapeutic enteral nutrition continues to grow confidently. Although Moscow traditionally remains the absolute leader in total retail sales volumes, Saint Petersburg has taken first place in the ranking of per capita spending with a significant margin.

The Russian retail market for therapeutic enteral nutrition continues to demonstrate confident growth: in January–August 2026, total revenue in this segment reached RUB 5.1 billion (at retail prices, including VAT), equivalent to the sale of 11.5 million packages, or 2.9 thousand tons of product. Compared to the same period in 2025, consumer spending increased by 11.7%, while physical sales volume grew by 6%. Having overcome the short-term decline of 2023 caused by reduced physical supplies of certain imported products, the category quickly returned to a stable upward trend and, for the second consecutive year, shows double-digit revenue growth rates. Consumption in the e-commerce segment is growing at a faster pace, with an increase of 17% in monetary terms and 13% in physical terms. As a result, marketplaces now account for 37.6% of total monetary volume and 30% of the physical volume of products sold.

In the structure of traditional sales (offline market) of therapeutic enteral nutrition among Russian regions, Moscow maintains its unchanging leadership. Based on the results of the first eight months of 2026, 926.5 thousand packages of products worth RUB 455.3 million were sold in the capital, accounting for 14.2% of the total value volume of the retail offline market. Second place, with a significant margin, is occupied by Moscow Oblast with an 8.6% share — consumers there purchased 653 thousand packages, spending RUB 274.2 million. Saint Petersburg accounts for 6.8% of all retail offline sales: from January to August, 501.9 thousand packages of therapeutic nutrition worth RUB 219.4 million were purchased in the city.

Based on the results of the first eight months of 2026, per capita spending on enteral nutrition in Russia amounted to RUB 21 thousand per 1,000 people. This result exceeded the same period last year by 9%. Among the regions, the top spot in the ranking was taken by Saint Petersburg, where spending is almost twice the national average at RUB 39.2 thousand per 1,000 people, showing 7% growth compared to January–August 2025. Second and third places were taken by Moscow and Moscow Oblast with results of RUB 34.6 thousand and RUB 31.7 thousand per 1,000 residents, respectively; these federal subjects also recorded positive dynamics of +2.5% and +5.6%. Such discrepancies are most likely related to the available volume of regional state guarantees for providing patients in specific federal subjects. The TOP-5 regions are rounded out by Tyumen and Novosibirsk Oblasts, where spending growth was about 5%.

The highest dynamics among the leading regions by spending were demonstrated by Samara Oblast, where population spending increased by 16.2% over the year, reaching RUB 26.9 thousand per 1,000 residents. Outside the leading group, a pronounced rise in consumer spending was noted in Nenets Autonomous Okrug (+82% compared to January–August 2025). Conversely, the minimum level of spending based on the analysis results was recorded in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and the Chechen Republic — in these regions, spending on the category did not exceed RUB 3 thousand and RUB 5.6 thousand, respectively.

In January–August 2026, the assortment of the retail segment of therapeutic enteral nutrition included 45 brands and 374 SKUs. A landmark event of the reporting period was the rise of the brand Nutridrink from Nutricia to first place: over the year, its sales increased by 15%, allowing the brand to generate 30% of total market revenue (including online sales). At the same time, the former leader — the brand Pediasure from Abbott — stagnated, with its share during this period amounting to 29%. The change in the leading brand was not recorded everywhere: in most regions, Pediasure still holds the lead, but in key market federal subjects such as Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Nutridrink managed to break into first place.
