In the first half of 2026, the Russian retail market for antiallergic ophthalmic drugs1 showed signs of slowing sales growth. From January to June 2026, Russians spent RUB 1.3 billion on such products (at retail prices, including VAT), which is only 1.8% more than in the first half of 2025. At the same time, physical consumption over the six months decreased by 11% to 2.5 million packages. Previously, the market had shown steady upward dynamics in monetary terms, with sales volume continuously increasing at double-digit rates over the past three years. In 2025, total spending on antiallergic eye drops exceeded RUB 2.3 billion, equivalent to the consumption of more than 4.8 million packages, with long-term growth recorded at +28.1% in rubles and +5.1% in packages.
According to the "Retail Audit of Drug Sales in Russia (total sell out)" from the analytical company RNC Pharma, more than half of all consumer spending in the analyzed category goes to eye drops containing the active ingredient olopatadine. In physical terms, these products account for approximately 38% of the category. The high demand for the drug is also confirmed by its wide availability — the olopatadine product line was the most extensive, with about 10 different brands in January–June of this year.
In total, during this period, 22 brands from 19 corporations were represented in the category. As in the same period last year, the largest Russian spending during the reporting period was directed toward the combined drug Oku-Oku (INN diphenhydramine + naphazoline + zinc sulfate) from Norton. The brand currently accounts for 26.2% of the group's total value sales. Second and third places in the brand ranking are occupied by foreign olopatadine-based drugs: Opatanol (Novartis) and Visallergol (SentiS Pharma) with shares of 22.2% and 19.6%, respectively. Fourth place is stably held by Polinadim (INN diphenhydramine + naphazoline) from Binnopharm Group, which accounted for 10.4% of the segment's total value sales. Rounding out the top five is Cromicyl-Solopharm (INN cromoglicic acid) from Grotex, with a 7.5% ruble share. The latter, in particular, stands out for its significant growth — compared to Q1–Q2 2025, its ruble sales increased 2.7-fold.
There were also other examples of outstanding dynamics in the top ten. In particular, sales of the unbranded drug Olopatadine, manufactured during the analyzed period by Severnaya Zvezda and CosmoPharm, increased 3.9-fold. It is worth noting that these products appeared in retail only in 2025. Overall, the share of domestic drugs in the category is growing each year. In Q1–Q2 2026, they accounted for over 64% of the physical market and approximately 51% of the value market. Also noteworthy in the top tier is the dynamics of the Indian brand Olopatin from Micro Labs, whose sales increased 2.8-fold over the year.
