In the first half of 2026, Russians purchased 27.1 million packages of topical wound-healing drugs worth RUB 9.4 billion (at retail prices, including VAT). Over the year, consumer spending in the category increased by 16.2%, while physical consumption remained virtually unchanged (+0.4%). Physical demand indicators in the category have remained at roughly the same level over the past three years. In total for 2025, 55.7 million packages of wound treatment drugs worth RUB 17 billion were purchased in pharmaceutical retail (including the online channel), with sales increasing by 1% in packages and 15.1% in value terms compared to 2024.
According to the "Retail Audit of Drug Sales in Russia (total sell out)" from the analytical company RNC Pharma, wound-healing products are in highest demand during the summer months. Moreover, consumption of drugs from both groups increases during the hot season. Last year, the peak in consumption occurred in July, totaling 5.6 million packages worth RUB 1.7 billion, of which more than RUB 1 billion came from antibacterial products. Comparable figures were observed in June of this year: spending in the antibacterial segment exceeded RUB 1.1 billion, while the market for wound-healing products (group D03A) reached RUB 583 million. An important feature of regenerating drugs is a secondary sales increase in the winter months. This dynamic is driven by the therapeutic specificity of dexpanthenol, which is actively used to treat dry and chapped skin during the cold season. In contrast, consumer demand for antibacterial products was at its minimum in January–February of last year.
In total, in the first six months of 2026, 36 brands of wound-healing products and 32 brands of antibacterial drugs were represented in retail, collectively accounting for about 70 manufacturers on the market. Leadership in terms of spending in both groups is retained by the brand Levomekol from the Nizhpharm Group, which accounts for 23.7% of the total value sales volume and 28.2% of physical demand. Compared to Q1–Q2 2025, Levomekol sales increased by 27.6% in rubles and 5.4% in packages. Second place is held by Bepanten from Bayer HealthCare, with a 19.3% sales share. The brand shows stagnation in physical sales, while spending on Bepanten increased by 10.7% compared to the first half of 2025. Third and fourth places in the ranking are occupied by two other antibacterial products: Oflomelid (Binnopharm) and Baneocin (Sandoz). Both drugs showed active growth in ruble sales, recorded at +24.5% and +13.7%, respectively. The top five is rounded out by the unbranded drug Dexpanthenol, which was manufactured by eight companies during the reporting period. The product accounts for 4.6% of ruble sales, with spending on this brand increasing by 12.2% over the year; however, physical consumption here decreased by 13.8%.
