For several years, Russia has seen steady growth in sales of drugs for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) belonging to group G04C (according to the EphMRA classification). Based on Q1 2026 results, 5.1 million packages of the corresponding drugs were sold on the retail market (including the online channel), amounting to RUB 5.4 billion (at retail prices, including VAT). The growth rate compared to the same period in 2025 was 5.8% in physical terms and approximately 9.6% in ruble terms. In total for 2025, over 19.4 million packages of such drugs worth more than RUB 20.1 billion were purchased at retail. The growth rate in packages compared to 2024 was +7.5%, while in monetary terms the growth rate was recorded at +12.9%.

According to the "Retail Audit of Drug Sales in Russia (total sell out)" from the analytical company RNC Pharma, dominant positions in the group of drugs for BPH therapy are occupied by tamsulosin-based drugs (including combinations). They account for more than 49.8% of the physical consumption of all analyzed drugs and 43.6% of total monetary spending in the category. Furthermore, sales of tamsulosin drugs increased by 12.4% in rubles and 8.7% in packages in 2025. In the current year, the dynamics for these drugs are recorded at approximately the same levels. Also, a significant part of the group is occupied by prostate extract-based products — about 15.8% of physical demand and 23.5% of the value volume.

Based on 2025 results, the retail segment assortment of drugs for the treatment of prostate diseases included 60 brands, combining over 160 SKUs. At the same time, 56 corporations represent their products in the analyzed group. The leadership in the market is retained by the brand Omnik (INN tamsulosin), the marketing authorization for which currently belongs to the company ZiO-Zdorovie. The brand accounts for 22.2% of all value sales in the group. Second place in the ranking is occupied by Vitaprost (prostate extract) from Nizhpharm Group; annual ruble sales of both brands increased by 14%. For the leading brand, the sales dynamics are higher for Omnik Okas (+24.8% compared to 2024 in rubles), which is released in the form of controlled-release tablets. The top three is rounded out by the brand from Menarini — Prostamol (INN saw palmetto fruit extract), occupying 8.8% of all value sales. Annual spending on the drug decreased by 4%, but demand for it in packages increased by 6.5%. A decline in monetary sales volume among the top ten brands is also observed for two drugs from GSK: Duodart and Avodart containing dutasteride. Compared to 2024, the ruble sales volume of these brands fell by 7% and 6%, respectively.

In the TOP-10, the highest growth rate was recorded for the brand Urorek from Recordati (+38%). Outside the top tier, the highest growth rate was observed for rectal suppositories Novoprost from the domestic company of the same name (INN prostate extract) — consumption in packages increased 22-fold over the year, and the total volume of monetary spending on it increased 20-fold.
