The Russian retail market for acne therapy drugs (EphMRA group D10) demonstrates a pronounced upward trend. In Q1 2026, total retail sales in this segment exceeded RUB 5.4 billion, which in physical terms corresponds to the sale of approximately 3.3 million packages. Compared to January–March 2025, growth was 26.7% in value terms with an increase in physical consumption of 14.1%. These figures continue the trends recorded in previous periods. For the full year 2025, the segment's volume reached 12.3 million packages with spending of RUB 18.5 billion, reflecting annual growth of +43.1% in monetary terms and +24.6% in physical terms compared to 2024. The consumption structure shows a sustained dominance of systemic therapy over topical therapy. In 2025, oral drugs accounted for RUB 10 billion, exceeding Russian spending on topical products by RUB 1.5 billion. The shift in consumer preferences toward oral drugs was first recorded in 2024, when spending on systemic and topical acne drugs amounted to RUB 6.6 billion and RUB 6.4 billion, respectively.

According to the "Retail Audit of Drug Sales in Russia (total sell out)" from the analytical company RNC Pharma, spending on acne treatments has nearly tripled over several years. In physical terms, the indicators were also characterized by double-digit growth rates. Foreign products play a key role: in Q1 2026, they accounted for 87% of the market in monetary terms and over 73% in packages. However, domestic and imported drugs showed comparable growth of approximately +28% compared to Q1 2025. It is important to note that almost the entire volume of Russian products in the group (98% in rubles) consists of topical products (gels, ointments, etc.), while the majority of imported products are oral drugs (over 64% in rubles).

In the ranking of acne treatment manufacturers in Q1 2026, the Croatian corporation Jadran retains its leadership, with its monetary share growing each year. During the reporting period, it reached 36.7% with revenue growth of 30%. Interestingly, over 70% of the group's revenue is provided by the products of the top three leading companies, which also include Galderma and the Indian company Sun Pharmaceutical Industries.

Within this category, the main share of Russian spending falls on systemic retinoids, in particular on drugs with the INN isotretinoin. Drugs based on this active ingredient account for over 57% of the value volume and 34% of the physical sales of the entire group. The leader among trademarks in recent years remains the brand Acnecutane from the Croatian company Jadran. In Q1 2026, it accounted for 33% of the monetary turnover and 18% of the market in physical terms. Second place is held by the brand Sotret from the Indian company Sun Pharma with a sales share of 14%. An important factor in the transformation of this segment has been the normalization of the supply situation for the original drug Roaccutane from the Swiss company Roche, which allowed the brand to achieve twofold sales growth and take third place in the brand ranking.
