According to the databases “Audit of Retail Sales of Medicinal Products in Russia (total sell out)” and “Audit of Retail Sales of Dietary Supplements in Russia (total sell out)”, a total of 4.79 million packs of dietary supplements and medicinal products used for menopause symptoms were sold on the retail market (including marketplaces and the FMCG channel) in Q1–Q3 2025. Consumers spent more than RUB 3.76 billion (in retail prices, including VAT). The value of sales of the analysed products increased substantially by +21.9% compared to the same period in 2024, while volume consumption grew by 6.5%. Demand for such products has been rising for the third consecutive year, with the dynamics in the category primarily driven by dietary supplements. For two consecutive years (2023–2024), the value dynamics of DS sales in retail amounted to +29%, while medicinal products showed growth of 9% in 2023 and 17% in 2024.
In total, by the end of Q1–Q3 2025, the Russian retail pharmacy market included more than 100 brands of dietary supplements used for menopause symptoms. Our review also included 14 brands of medicinal products with similar indications, excluding estrogen-based hormone replacement therapy. The average price of one pack in the category in Q1–Q3 2025 amounted to RUB 786, which is 15% higher than in January–September of last year. It is noteworthy that the average pack price for dietary supplements is significantly higher than that of medicinal products: RUB 850 and RUB 650 respectively.
Plant-based ingredients are most commonly used as active substances in the analysed products, for example soy isoflavones, red clover extract, Cimicifuga (black cohosh), and others. By the end of the first nine months of 2025, the leading position among brands in the category remained with Mense by Akvion. During the reporting period, the brand accounted for more than 13% of value sales and 14.4% of volume demand in the group. The second position was taken by Estrovel from Alcea with a 10.7% value share, shifting the medicinal product Qi-Klim by Evalar (9.6% share) to third place. In addition to Qi-Klim, two other medicinal products are represented in the top ten brands: Klimalanin by Recordati (7.8% share), ranking fourth, and Klimadinon by Bionorica (5.7% share), ranking sixth. Almost all brands in the top ten demonstrated significant value growth during the reporting period; however, unit demand for some of them still declined. For example, unit sales of Qi-Klim fell by 14.5% over the year, and Klimalanin by 1.9%.
The highest value growth among the top ten was recorded for Mabelle by Nizhpharm — compared to Q1–Q3 of last year, sales of this dietary supplement doubled both in value and volume. Among the medicinal products represented in retail, Klimalax by Vifitech also showed strong growth (a twofold increase), but in the overall ranking the product currently occupies only the 27th position.
