Sales of saturation monitoring devices — pulse oximeters — in January–May 2025 exceeded 232.9 million rubles (at retail prices, including VAT) in the Russian retail market. Almost 268,000 devices were sold in five months. Compared to the same period in 2024, sales grew by 17% in monetary terms, while the actual volume increased by 26%. According to the database “Audit of retail sales of medical equipment in Russia (total sell out)” from the analytical company RNC Pharma, consumers purchased more than 495,600 units of the analyzed medical devices worth 462.4 million rubles in 2024. However, these volumes are nowhere near comparable to the pandemic period, when the healthcare system's monthly demand for pulse oximeters exceeded 100,000 units. In 2025, the average monthly sales volume was 49,500 units, with the absolute peak in demand occurring in March, when 64,800 devices were sold – an absolute record for the last 27 months.
During the reporting period, the online channel continued to develop rapidly. Almost 79% of all sales in this product category were made via the Internet. This year, sales in the e-commerce segment increased by 26% in rubles and 32% in physical units, while sales in traditional outlets grew at a slower pace: +6% in value and +10% in physical terms.
In this product category, no-name products occupy most of the market (about 64% of natural sales volume), with online platforms playing a leading role in promoting the analyzed category, and their share increasing every year. According to the results of January-May of this year, about 97% of all unbranded devices were purchased online.
Unbranded devices are significantly cheaper, so in monetary terms, spending on them accounted for only about 30% of the total market volume, but in ruble terms, they are the absolute leaders in the category, and their sales increased by 48% in Russian currency over the year.
When considering branded goods, Swiss B.Well pulse oximeters from the company of the same name lead the category in terms of monetary volume, occupying more than 18.6% of the market, with the brand's sales growing by 50% compared to January-May last year. More than 48% of the company's devices are sold in the e-commerce segment. Second and third place are occupied by Chinese devices ChoiceMMed (13% share) and Armed (9.5%) — compared to January-May 2024, the brands recorded a decline in sales: -30% and -20%, respectively.
Another Swiss device, Microlife, showed record growth in this category, with natural sales tripling over the year and spending on this device increasing 2.6 times. The Chinese brand Liku and the American brand Meditech also stand out, with sales in monetary terms doubling compared to the same period last year. It should be noted that Meditech's result is largely due to the manufacturer's active online channel, where the brand's sales volume increased 13 times over the year, while offline sales grew 2 times.
