The Russian market for lipid-lowering drugs (EphMRA group C10A) demonstrates steady positive dynamics. The total sales volume of these drugs in the retail segment exceeded RUB 8.8 billion in Q1 2026, with approximately 14.7 million packages sold in the first three months alone. Sales growth compared to January–March 2025 was 24.8% in monetary terms, while physical consumption increased by 12.8%. For comparison, in all of 2025, 54.8 million packages worth RUB 30.8 billion were sold, with growth compared to 2024 recorded at +23.3% in rubles and +10.5% in packages.
According to the "Retail Audit of Drug Sales in Russia (total sell out)" from the analytical company RNC Pharma, the growth rates of lipid-lowering drug sales have been characterized by quite high figures for several years now, in both value and physical terms. Interestingly, over this period, Russian pharmaceutical companies have noticeably strengthened their leadership in the segment: in Q1 2026, they accounted for 61.5% of the market in monetary terms and over 75.9% in packages. For comparison, back in 2022 these figures were noticeably lower — 53.8% and 68.6%, respectively. However, this year, foreign products have begun to regain their positions, showing double-digit growth rates. Nevertheless, physical demand for Russian drugs in the analyzed group increased by 12.2% compared to Q1 2025 (lower than the category average), while spending increased by 26.6%.
The leadership in the ranking of lipid-lowering drug manufacturers changed in Q1 2026. First place was taken by the Russian company Severnaya Zvezda, whose share reached 10.4% with revenue growth of 28%. It pushed KRKA into second place (10.3% share), whose sales increased by 13%. The top three is rounded out by AstraZeneca, which controls 9.3% of the market and shows growth of +20% in rubles. Special attention deserves the dynamics of "younger" players: Grotex and AVVA Pharmaceutical, which increased their sales 59-fold and 27-fold, respectively. This sharp leap is due to the successful launch of new brands and the drug Rosuvastatin AVVA during 2024.
In total, during the analyzed period, 51 companies represented their products in the group. At the same time, the number of SKUs during the reporting period was about 460. The largest share of spending is accounted for by cholesterol-lowering drugs based on rosuvastatin (44.6% in rubles). However, in terms of physical demand, more than half of sales are provided by atorvastatin-based drugs (52% in packages). The brand ranking is naturally led by unbranded drugs within these molecules, which together account for 44.2% of all ruble sales in the group. Each of these products is represented by more than 20 manufacturers, with Rosuvastatin growing faster (+25% vs. +18% for Atorvastatin). Among previously popular brands, a significant decline is noted for Torvacard from Sanofi (-14.4% in rubles) and Tulip (Sandoz), which has practically disappeared from pharmacy shelves (-98%). Within the top ten brands, the highest growth rates are recorded for unbranded ezetimibe drugs, which were represented by five manufacturers in Q1 2026. Compared to the same period last year, their sales increased by 98% in rubles and 69% in packages.
