Based on the results of January–February 2026, the average cost of a single purchase across the total assortment in pharmacy institutions nationwide was RUB 862 (at retail prices, including VAT). Compared to the same period in 2025, the average receipt increased by 13.2%. The main driver of growth was medicines, with average spending on them increasing by 15.8% to RUB 712. At the same time, regarding the average receipt for non-drug products, a slight increase (+2.1%) to RUB 151 was recorded at the beginning of this year compared to the first two months of 2025, following a noticeable decline in 2025 (-2.3% compared to 2024). The stagnation in pharmacies is explained by the fact that buyers are increasingly purchasing parapharmaceuticals (dietary supplements, medical devices, cosmetics, hygiene products, etc.) on marketplaces, moving away from traditional retail.

Analysis of the average receipt dynamics in Russian pharmacies for 2025 and the beginning of 2026 confirms the persistence of pronounced seasonality against the backdrop of a general upward trend. According to the "Retail Audit of Drug Sales in Russia (total sell out)" from the analytical company RNC Pharma, traditional minimums of consumer activity typically occur in January and May: for example, in 2025, during these periods, the average cost of a single purchase fell to RUB 755–756. At the same time, toward the end of the year, the average receipt showed steady growth, and by December, a single purchase across the total assortment reached RUB 865, of which RUB 716 was spent on medicines and RUB 148 on parapharmaceuticals. At the beginning of 2026, after a short-term decline in January, the average receipt returned to growth, exceeding RUB 875 in February, of which RUB 725 was for medications and RUB 150 for related products. It is worth noting that the non-drug assortment has its own peak periods: last year, the maximum receipt in this segment was recorded in October–November at RUB 159.

Based on the results of January–February 2026, the average receipt increased compared to the same period in 2025 in all regions of our country. In most federal subjects, the growth rate exceeded 14%. During the reporting period, the largest average receipt for the total pharmacy assortment was observed in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (RUB 1,272) and Moscow (RUB 1,248). Third place in this ranking is occupied by Kamchatka Krai, where the average single purchase in January–February amounted to RUB 1,090 (+15.4% compared to January–February 2025). In St. Petersburg, this indicator increased less significantly — by 8.5% over the year, reaching RUB 1,084. Notably, back in December of last year, in nine federal subjects, the average receipt exceeded the RUB 1,000 threshold. These include Moscow and its surrounding region, as well as the most remote regions of Russia. The smallest average receipt continues to be recorded in the Republic of Tyva (RUB 611).

In the structure of pharmacy receipts, medicinal products account for the main share, with the leader in spending on this category in January–February 2026 being Chukotka Autonomous Okrug with an indicator exceeding RUB 1,139. In most regions of the country during the reporting period, the average single purchase of parapharmaceutical products either decreased or stagnated. Considering the average receipt for the entire pharmacy assortment, the most notable growth was observed in Kursk, Oryol, and Tambov oblasts. In these regions, the dynamics of spending compared to January–February 2025 exceeded +17%.
